Furniture help

Okay, I've looked all over the net with no luck, and I'm hoping one of you can point me in the right direction.
I need a small sofa, loveseat, or chaise lounge for my computer room. I've been searching high and low, and everything I find is too deep. Anyone know of any place that makes smaller sized furniture?

Re: Furniture help

I saw some cute sized couches at Ikea, don't know if you like Ikea, but we sat on them just to see and they were comfy!
If they are just for your pc room maybe they will do justice?

We were in Huffman Koos, Levitz, Seamans & Fortunoff this weekend, and decided on the sofa & chair from Fortunoff!
All these places had 'big' couches.

I just love what they do now. Sofa & large chair, nomore love seats!

Re: Furniture help

I thought of IKEA immediately, but had no luck on their website. Maybe I'll just have to go to the store. It's not close, so I really wanted to avoid that...

I'm glad you found furniture you love! We are also running into a bit of trouble with living room furniture, because our LR is so large. We actually need 2 couches to balance the room, and I have only found 1 couch I like, and it's $3500. I'd rather not spend $7000 on couches alone!!!

Re: Furniture help

Jenn you had to see the huge sectional at Fortunoffs on sale for $1999!!!
We wanted it sooo bad but live in an apartment and it will never ever fit.
Its on Fortunoffs website! It is so beautiful!! and HUGE! Huffman Koos had the same exact sectional for $3999!??!!??! The SAME one?!

As for Ikea, see if you can request a catalog on their site, they have the couches in the catalog. i have the catalog right here wish i could put it through the pc for you lol.

Good Luck.

Re: Furniture help

Thanks for the tip! I love Fortunoff's stuff, but because of the way my LR is layed out (windows, doors, etc) a sectional won't work (unless we take the pieces apart, and then you loose the look). You did, however, inspire me to take a ride over there this weekend to take a peek. Thanks so much!

Oh, and I went back to the IKEA website and saw a cute couch I originally overlooked. Patrick is stopping there today on his way to work to check it out. I hope it's as cute as it appears on the website!

Jenn-a trip to IKEA is never wasted ! I love that store, you'll always find something !

My mom purchased a brown leather set from MACY's earlier this year. Its very 'petite' and adorable. They found it in Queens, but you can go to the Macys Furniture place by Roosevelt Field.

Also, as far as prices, if youre willing to wait, you can get deals from NC. Just know the style/mfr, etc and you can probably get it for MUCH LESS. My leather sectional (made by Douglass) we saw at Levitz for close to $4,000 and I think we paid under $3,000. (from NC).

This is who I used. They are not very computer saavy, so if theres email or PHONE on the site, I would do PHONE. Thats the only drawback, you have to make that long distance call. They are good about calling back and great customer service.

GOOD LUCK !

Re: Furniture help

There is a bunch of furniture warehouse places on McDonald Ave, in Brooklyn if you would like to drive there. Most of them are owned by Russians, but the furniture there is nice and elegant, european style. The prices vary from Ikea to some outrageous $. As a side note, you often can't substitute things there as much as in American furniture stores, so what you see on the floor sample, is what you get, except brand new (they also sell floor samples at discout), no fabric switching, etc.

We bought a nice small couch that turns into a full size bed at Luna Park Furniture, 718-336-6999; 330 Kings Highway. The mattress is really firm, not like typical futon mattresses at all, it has springs in it, and I think we paid about $300 or so for it.
