I think Soph's days and nights are mixed up. She sleeps a lot during the day, and by 11 pm she is like a wide eyed raccoon!!!
So what I am dealing with is how to change that - and also when she breastfeeds at night before bed she is incredibly fussy. I can't imagine it's because she 'knows' we are goign to try to make her go to sleep,, but she is shaking her head like crazy before latching on, but with the mouth open, and then when she gets on she starts pulling at me like taffy (which hurts like hell) and then comes of and cries. Won't take a bottle - eventually I get up and walk around, put her in the swing, etc. A couple of hours go by and she finallyl sleeps.
Do you think it's because she thinks it's awake time?

Re: fussing so badly at night
Caiden does the same thing when he nurses, but only when he's really hungry, or when he gets frustrated because he's having trouble latching on, or mommy's taking too long! The head shakes, the mouth's going, and then he pulls and twists sometimes. He thinks I'm silly putty! He even throws in a leg shake when he gets really frustrated!

Fussing while nursing can be due to many things, and to be honest, sometimes by the time you figure out what it is, they stop fussing! I used to refer to this site a lot: Kellymom
