I really get along well with my FIL's. FH's mother lives up in Pennsylvania. His parents are still married but his father works for the MTA and couldn't retire so he has an apartment in the city and goes up to PA on the weekends. I don't see them that often but he mom asks me about the wedding all the time but doesnt butt in to much. FH's older brother lives in Buffalo so i don't see him often so we have a good relationship. My FSIL is awesome! I love her and she helps me with whatever i need so we all pretty much get along. No real issues as of yet. Hopefully it stays like this!

I love my future in laws I couldn't ask for a better FMIL AND FFIL!! They are just very down to earth -not stuffy.. I'm the favorite Daughter in law... Well the only one as of now... but always the favorite!! My FMIL was calling me her Future Daughter in law way before we were engaged =) She loves me!!

sorry! i get a long pretty well w/my in-laws; but it helps that FH doesn't spend too much time with them so our visits are few and far between...so far i haven't had any problems.

I'm sorry some of you guys have issues w FHs family. I had TONS of issues w my ex husband's evil family.

I'm so thankful for FH's family though. I'm actually texting FBIL and 2 cousins in between typing this.

My inlaws have always called me their daughter in law. well, FFIL calls me his daughter, FMIL calls me her DIL. I think she likes the way it sounds. lol

and a few years ago, FMIL came back from panama and gave us a cd which she had blessed by a priest and said I want you to play this for your wedding song. ummm...ok. I guess that was a clue she wanted us to get married.

I lucked out too. I love my FIL's. Although my FMIL can be a HUGE PITA sometimes. I still love her though.

I absolutely adore my FSIL! She's awesome!!!!

This is the fist topic I'v responded to on here and it is such an issue for me. My FMIL and I have some major issues. She is super jealous of our relationship and the things we do and always says things with an underlying meaning. I've tried hard to hide it for my FH's sake but now that were engaged she is only getting worse

Good luck, it seems like we both need it lol

all my ex-boyfriend's families LOVED me....and I marry the one whose has family that can't stand me. It took me about 5 years to get used to the insults, lack of respect, etc. but now I don't let it bother me. FMIL does and says things just to get a reaction (she told FH last week that we are being selfish for getting married in 2011 instead of 2010- because his grandmother won't be alive in 2011! G-ma is not sick or in any worse shape than she was when I met her 6 years ago!!!) It used to be an issue with FH and I, but he has become a man (instead of the boy she knows) and we are a solid unit now. FSIL in a miniature FMIL- so same thing. My family loves him and is very excited he will be a part of our family soon.

According to FH though- 'things are getting better between you and my mom'.....

His family is GREAT......however they can be a bit overbearing.....hes a mommas boy so no matter what he has to ask him mommy which can get annoying. And his sister is like the little sister i never wanted. Wants to borrow my clothes coming upstairs to hang out all the time. Shes a mini-me. Wants everything I have.
Ive had the other extreme where my x-fiances parents were a bunch of a-holes and didn't care about him or anyone else but themselves so I cant complain.

Sorry you are ha ving problems with your FIL. FH does not have a relationship with his father, so I do not know my FFIL. But, I absolutely Love his mother. She has been calling me her daughter in law since before we were engaged. I really could not ask for a better FMIL
