Thanks for the heads up on the brittleness of starfish. FH and I went to a shell store in Florida to get some and because of your posts I made them wrap them extra good to get them on the plane and bought two extra. And we carried them on to be safe. Good thing, 1 broke even wrapped well. You are right, they are super brittle.

We are using them in the trays around our sand-dollar name cards. With some shells too.

You're very welcome!. The idea you're doing sounds wonderful! I actually am still using the starfish on my invites... My seller is using a diff type thats a bit more sturdy (sugar starfish) and it held up while mailing!

Thats great. There are all different types of starfish, I had no idea until I was walking through the shell store.

I just found stuff to harden sand-dollars, but the woman told us we don't need it for what we are doing with them. My mom bought a bottle anyhow just to test it out. This is what we are doing with them.
