I saw this thread on another board and I thought I could get some ideas from you girls. FM has a daughter who will be 5 at our wedding. I was wondering what ideas anyone might have to include her in our jewish ceremony. She will be my flowergirl, but FH wants to add something else so she will feel apart of the ceremony. Any suggestions???

Re: Future step children
My FH has a son from a previous relationship.
Check out this website and these are some things that you and your FH can present to her during the ceremony.
I have seen it done before and it is beautiful, not a dry eye in the place
When I married DH I also gained a step-daughter. We didn't really include her into the ceremony bc DH wanted it to be just us, but she was a jrBM and stood up front, next to my MOH. She also had a special spotlight dance with her dad. She's pretty shy so I didn't want her to get nervous during the ceremony, she had enough anxiety walking down the aisle! Tho we wrote our own vows, and a part of mine said how I promise to be a good guardian for her and our future children
Also, I gave her and I matching rings so they're kind of like 'our step-mom/step-daughter w-bands'. They're not good jewelry but they're something that just we have together and we took a few pics of just our hands (similar to the ones DH and I took of our actual w-bands). This was a part of her jrBM gift which I handed out at the RD the night before and we both wore them to the wedding. It was something that bonded us, we don't wear them all the time but we'll 'make a date' to both wear them together.

Cindy, that's such a sweet idea! You must be the best step-mom!
Yup, I am!!

Re: Future step children
i will be a step mom too yeah !!!!!! my step daughter when i get married will be 7 she is beyond shy and we are practicing with her to walk down the aisle. we were gognt o include her in the ceremony but she too would get to nervous and shy and she will def have a melt down so i am promiseing in our vows to always love her and treat her like she was once of my own. she will also have a dance with her daddy but thats it i didn't want her to feel scared or nervous
