I was told by a repairman that the electrosol tablets can eat away at your water lines over time causing leaks.
Just a head's up.

I heard the same thing!
On a side note, if you choose the 'Air Dry' setting, the dishes still come out warm and dry - but it saves so much energy/$ over time - especially if you run the dishwasher every day or 2.

ooh-that's a good tip espaceilly for the summer when the AC ups teh electric bill too.
I used ot use the electrosal tablets in an old apt, b/c the detergent flpa would stay closed, so I felt there woudln't be any soap left in the second part of the cycle & figured the tablet would last longer.
my roomate & I were kicked out of that apartmet , b/c the landlords wanted to move to the bigger apartment. maybe we left them with leaks
Anyway, I use Cascade Complete.now.

That's what I use right now too. I just got a dishwasher though so I don;t know if it's the best, but my dishes look pretty good!

I have been using the cascade liquid - it works good, has a rinse agent in it already and doesn't make a mess. I am forever hopeless with powder - I always overpour and get it all over the place.
I'm domestically challenged.

I jsut got a dishwsher too. I had one, then for 4 years didn't, & then as of December I do again. my m om reccomended the Cascade complete. SHe runs her dishwasher everyday & has had one for years & she thinks this is the best.
She also reccomends Cascade Plastic booster ( an additive), to get stains out of the dishwasher & plastic containers.
