FYI- Brooches

FYI- Brooches

We all know that retail prices are jacked up and that brides are not getting any good bargains at bridal shops. this was defintely proven to me today. without mentioning the name of the local bridal shop that attempted to sell my best friend and bride to be brooches for upwards of $100 each, let me tell you that we found ALL of the brooches that they showed her from their 'exclusive designer' at wholesale costume jewlers around 6th avenue today. for $18.00. thats right, eighteen dollars!!!

she wouldve spent $100 per brooch for 8 brooches. she got 8 brooches today for $144. you do the math, she saved over $500!!!!

my problem isnt with the wholesale/retail mark up. its with the fact that the sales girl told us she would call the designer to see if she could 'get more' brooches since they only had one in stock. we literally saw that brooch in five different wholesalers!!!

moral of the story is, do your homework. dont fall for the BS. your 'exclusive designer''s brooch was made in korea at a cost of less than $10!

I totally discovered that with Barrons at Tri-county. I went to a head piece trunk show at my Bridal salon. The veil I like was $350 and $200 for a small comb to go in my hair.

I went over to Barrons, told him exactly what I had tried on in the bridal store and he quoted me $35-$55. Most of the hair combs I was looking at were $50 and looked exactly like the ones my bridal store carried.

If it wasn't for LIW, I would never known about Barrons.

The bridal stores jack up their prices so much and it is so sad for the girls that just don't know better.
