nope, the article says the people in Bay Ridge are not happy....Kleinfeld brought a lot of people there....

I live right by there and honestly it didn't bring that much business to any other establishment around them.

I think they meant the wedding-related businesses, like photographers, formalwear places, lingerie stores. The NYT or someone else spoke to a photographer who wasn't happy.

My guess to why they are moving is that more people from outside of NY would sooner go to Manhattan than Brooklyn. Kleinfeld may be no big deal to a NY bride, but this salon is known all over the world and for world travelers Manhattan is the place to be. To travel to Bay Ridge is nothing short of a pain in the tuchas. Parking is limited and there arent a lotof garages. Manhattan is much more of a central location. Though the rents are much higher - as if they REALLY can't afford it.
