FYI: Secrets in Punta Cana is CLOSING

Just wanted to let you 2007 brides who might be looking into this place for your HM...like i was...that I learned that Secrets in Punta Cana has been bought out and as of Jan. 1, 2007--they will be closing and new management will take over and re-name the hotel. There is not further information as to whether it will be a complete overhaul or not. I think there is a chance that whatever company that bought Secrets Punta Cana, may be going after the one in Riviera Maya.

If you try and get a rate quote on their official website (www.secretsresorts.com)--the Riviera Maya one says that there are no check-in's from Oct. 1, 2006--Dec. 31, 2006. (this worries me, as the calendar they are using for rate quotes doesn't go PAST 12/31/06)

Just thought I'd pass this on. I'm crushed! i really wanted Secrets for our HM!

Wow...how sad

There is a TON of info on this on the tripadvisor message boards. when I was planning my trip to Punta Cana earlier this year the people were going crazy about Secrets closing.

If you go to the Punta Cana message board and search you will find a ton of new info on the new owners and stuff.
