I went to my Travel Agent over the weekend to add some excursions to our HM and she told me that they are doing a major renovation at the Hyatt in Kauii starting on May 9th and ending on or about November 2nd. They are adding a huge addition to the spa but they said they will keep the noise level to a minimum. They will continue with their normal spa treatments but they will be in another location. She asked me if I still wanna stay there. I said yes b/c we will be there the last week of the renovations. Just wanted to let everyone else know. I wouldn't have known unless I went in this weekend. I never received a phone call.

You're welcome Yes, we are staying 6 nights at the Hyatt in Maui and 6 nights at the Hyatt in Kauii.

I got the call too. I was told we would not hear lots of noise and they were moving their spa service to hotel rooms and massages on the beach (which if you ask me is even better)
the place is so big we wont even notice. The 4S in maui is doing MAJOR renovations in October. That's closing one pool and restaurant. Compared to that I think we are okay HTH

I just got back from both the Hyatt in Kuaui and Maui - even with the renovations - totally worth staying in Kuaui's Hyatt - it is awesome and the service is great! As for Maui - it is good too, but its not as up to date as the one in Kuaui - you'll have a great time on both islands!
