Has anyone had gallbladder problems or had to have it removed? What were your symptoms? How did they diagnose you?
My mom has been in the hospital for days and all of the doctors STINK!!!!!!! They are claiming its a severe case of ibs and now they want to release her but she is in the same pain as when she went into the hospital and I just dont get it. Thanks for the feedback!

My dad had his gallbladder out. He had horrible pain in his back, mostly on the right side.

I've heard that it feels like a heart attack. Pain in the chest, and shooting down the left arm. Pain in the lower back as well.
I hope they figure out what is wrong with your mom soon!

My sister recently had hers removed. They did it laparoscopically with teeny tiny incisions. Her recovery was relatively easy and not very painful.

Re: Gallbladder questions....important! Anyone??
I had gallstones and got very sick while on vacation in florida with a boyfriend.....I thought it was something I ate....because it used to happen when I ate something very fatty.
I felt SO naseated!
I can home, I was ok for a week or so....then one night ate chinese food and ben & jerry's ice cream....later that night got violently ill....throwing up repeatedly. Hot hot sweats and cold chills....my dad thought it was bad chinese.
I also felt like I had a rock in my stomach and a pain radiated from my right side around to my back. For awhile, I lived on salads and Carvel low fat ice cream...everything else seemed to bother my stomach.
I self diagnosed myself via webmd.com and then as I went to various doctors, they also said it was gallstones (which I was too young to have, but apparently taking the pill can be a factor in this as well as a poor diet).
My grandmother also had this problem and had the surgery and she had the same symptoms. You can have symptoms for years and not realize what it is.
I had the laproscopic surgery and all I have is 3 small scars. Took about 1-2 weeks to fully recover and for quite sometime afterwards, I ate low fat foods and smaller portions since the gallbladder regulates the release of bilee which breaks down fats in your digestive system.
hope this helps....also check out www.webmd.com for more info
