Gals that have ever had pics taken or even just visited the Brooklyn Bridge

DUET needs the exact loation of the engagement shoot, and my answer of 'The Brooklyn Bridge' is a bit too vague.

Where exactly can you take pics at/on the bridge? What is the promenade? I have not been down there since I was a little girl, and I can't remember a thing!

Thanks ladies.

When FH and I visited last year, we parked the car on the NYC side and walked to the middle - the view is awesome and lots of room to take pics.

i took my pics there about a week and a half ago.. you'll get amazing pics... as for location.

we just parked our car on the brooklyn side and met up with our photographer there.. theres steps that you walk up and we waited. there wasn't an exact location.. all over the bridge theres amazing pics. we tooks pics from walking a few feet onto the bridge.. and then again more toward the middle and again when we were in the middle and overlooking the water.

sorry i couldn't be of more help.. but good luck with your pics!

It depends if you want the bridge in your pics or just the view FROM the bridge in your pics. I live in BKLYN and walk home from work across it almost every day. the center would be your best bet because there are a lot of cables obstructing the view for most of it. you should also be wary of the wind up there and the time of day...it will be hard during peak times (think rush hours) and also at lunch. A LOT of tourists are up there taking pics too, so there will be lots of people around you.

that being said, if you want the bridge IN your pics, you can take them at the Brooklyn Promenade or at the South Street Seaport.

Hope this helps.

Hi Ryanna, I was wondering about taking pics there too. I would run down there to look around before I committed to it, though. Justshir, another LIW bride did her pics there and she told me this:

there's no fee to pay but you would have to call Mr Peter Basich to let him know teh date and he in turn will give you the o.k.

if you're gonna enter the bridge from the brooklyn side there are 2 entrances. 1) Tillary Street entrance which is the LONGEST. i would say 2-3 blox worth. 2) corner of Cadman Plaza East and Prospect Street. it's a huge giant's leap difference in comparison.

the entrance from teh bklyn side is at the corner of Prospect Street and Cadman Plaza East. there's also a parking lot there for those who need it. having the car(s) parked at the bklyn side is much more convenient. there's less traffic to deal with.

my photographer started shooting as my hub and i were stepping out of our limo. from there on we proceeded to our 'determined' spot which was anywhere in the brooklyn side of the bridge or bklyn tower. before designating which tower to use we had to call Peter Basich who's teh manager of nyc bridges and tunnels. reason why you should call is so you absolutely know whether or not there's construction work being done on a particular section of this beautiful bridge.

your photos are going to come out beautiful! good luck w everything!

ladies, thank you so much - this was very very helpful.

I think i want to enter from the brooklyn side - now I have to find out if DUET will meet us in Brooklyn instead of Manhattan!
