omg......i have an ungodly amount of credit cards.

FH and I share 11 between us....it's a sick, sad thing. We also pay a car loan, car insurance, one cellphone bill (for 2 phones), two best buy loans, a dentist bill and TiVo (which is the least of my worries).

I'd actually have some friggin money if I could pay down my damn credit cards.

That's what happens when you're 18 and have no money.

seriously, share the wisdom....

I used to have a lot of debt and horrible credit. I know this sounds silly, but I went to freecreditreport.com. I pay $12.95 per month but I get unlimited credit reports. They contact me when there is a change to my credit report. By looking at my credit report each month, I saw what things were really affecting my credit. There are all kinds of resources on their website too, so you can figure out which things are really bad for your credit. After a year of using the service, my credit is up 150 points.

Re: GAME: BILLS W/POLL

Ok so I watched this whole thing on Oprah like a year ago but it really stuck with me on how to pay off CC Debt.

1. try to switch what you can to either 0% or even a low fixed rate. Don't do this too many times because they are queries on your credit report

2. Pay off the lowest balances first. I thought that seemed odd, but i did it and she is right. You pay off that first while making minimum payments to others and then you free up cash to make larger payments as time goes on.

3. DON'T USE THE CARD!!!!!!

I am shoveling my way out of CC debt from when I was young and stupid. It ***** but it feels so good when you see that number coming down!

Re: GAME: BILLS W/POLL

I get so sad thinking about this cause i'm poooorrrrrrr

Car insurance
2 student loans
1 CC (but I barely use it and has like the smallest limit lol)
Hospital bills (DONT EVER GO A MOMENT WITHOUT HEALTH INSURANCE!! please take my advice lol)
Verizon (even though FH pays it mostly)

but I have so much debt outstanding, I feel like i'll never get out of it. Grrrrrrr

Re: GAME: BILLS W/POLL

Rent
Electric
Water
Cable/phone/internet
2 Cell phones
2 Cars
Geico-car insurance
Allstate-renters insurance
To many credit cards to list-will pay off with wedding money
Dogs daycare-yes we're crazy
Life insurance for FH and I

Next month we will also have a mortgage, and taxes, and next year I will start paying my student loans

Re: GAME: BILLS W/POLL

FH does all the bills, even mine, he probably has at least 30 different bills, plus his business bills, which there are tons.

He says he LOVES to pay bills. It makes him feel good that he can afford them. He is nuts lol

Re: GAME: BILLS W/POLL

This is a very good questions, lets see..
and this is only my bills, not including FHs, and we splite the first 4 bills...
1st mortgage
2nd mortgage
property tax
home insurance
car loan
car insurance
cable + internet + home phone
electric
heat/ gas
cell phone
plus FH's bills, it costs us over $5500 per month on just on bills, that doesnt even include food, gas and personal expenses. sometimes I wonder why we didn't move off the island.
