Yay or Nay? If yay..what kind? The shower is 4 hours, at a restaurant (private room) and about 25 people.

Nay, I personally dont enjoy doing them when I go to one. I hope my mom doesn't do them. I always think, why can't everyone just talk and have a good time!

I'm not a fan of games at showers but maybe you could feel her out and see how she feels. Then if she likes the idea, Google 'bridal shower games' and tons will pop up.

if there is a lull during the party it is a great time filler when you have games .....i just didnt want them for myself but i have been to plenty of showers where the games are the guests favorite part of the shower

i love games at showers! they can be fun. I guess u can feel the crowd that day to see if ppl would actually join. If anything, the bridal party should def. join and that should encourage the others.

We played a few at mine...like how much do you know about the bride and weddings...took like 5 min and that was the end...most people enjoyed it some didnt

Yay to games. Ladies occassionally get bored at a shower and there are some games you can play that are fun without being cheesy. My favorite is this one:
You make a posterboard of pictures of the bride througout her life. Guests get index cards and someone walks around, ladies guess the age of the bride in each picture and then whoever's correct wins prizes. The prizes are usually little kitchen things you can get at dollars stores.. spatulas, oven mitts and things like that.. but the women seem to LOVE this game.
Everyone's laughing (when they're really off on the age) and get super excited when they guess correctly. We did this for my SIL and for my girlfriend when I was her MOH and it was a hit both times.

Actually, I think games will break the ice and allow everyone to get comfortable. Also I tink sitting around talking for a few hours could be a little boring. So I say Yay to the games.

we're doing a few games at my shower but since my shower is a jack & jill, we had to come up with games fun for everyone. so we're doing a regular door prize, the newlywed game, the toilet paper dress and some other ones.

My shower was last Sunday at Antun's of Westchester and my mom and sisters' played some good games...one was they made a list of 20 things..and read each one out loud..whoever had the most stuff in their pocketbooks won..some of the things were safety pin, tampon, checkbook, condom...etc. (it really was hysterical because 2 people actually had the condoms) then another games was dress up the bride...you get blindfolded and reach in a bag and pull out stuff...your girls dress you...i'm talking HUMUNGO grannie panties, the largest bra you've ever seen, and so on...you are literally rolling with laughter and crying so hard! HTH

Best game EVER......at my shower, my mom had 25 blown up balloons (not heelium, just air) Inside each balloon, she put a different picture of a sexy male model, EXCEPT 1..........where she put a picture of my FH, LMAO!!!
The game was that everyone pick a balloon out of the bag (the balloons were the colors from my wedding, silver and blue) and SIT on them!!! The first one to find the pic of my FH wins a prize....in this case a 10 dollar lottery sctach off card.
Can i just tell you, it was so silly having everyone sit and POP the balloons that everyone was cracking up (some would sit and it still wouldnt pop!!) But the lady got all excited when she found the pic of my FH, and the others were loving the pics of the male models : D
