Gap between E-ring and Wedding Band

Gap between E-ring and Wedding Band

Hey girls...FH and I started looking at wedding bands, just to get an idea of what we may want...and I am realizing that any strait diamond band leaves a little gap between the e-ring and the wedding band. I really hate the idea of having to custom make a contoured band (plus I am not even sure that I like that look)

What do you think? Is that gap ok?

Pics of your gaps would be helpful! Thanks!

hey, i have a small gap like that on mine too ... i actually thought it'd drive me crazy but it really doesn't.

ultimately, your band & engagement ring will move around anyhow so even if there was no gap, it would still LOOK like there was one. (unless your rings are very tight, that is)

I think it's fine if there is a gap.

i had the same problem. and i didnt want to get a curved band b/c i wanted the option of wearing them solo too.

so this is what i had made. i love it!

if you like the look, they sell these type of rings in stores too (usually under then 'right hand ring' section) and you might luck out that it fits perfectly w/o needing anything made

Agreed....mine does the same thing...not a big deal.

We bought mine as a set and I was really mad that there was a gap (it was big) so what my Jeweler did was shave down the prongs on one side, not the entire ring and now they sit perfectly against each other.

There is also the option of sodering them together. I knwo some people will wear the rings separately from each other but I'm just not sure if I'd do that so I've considered having the two attached after the wedding, that of course is somethign more permanent.

My e-ring has an uneven curve so the gap would only be on one side and I didn't like the way it looked so I am having one custom made.

a friend of mine just purchased a contoured wedding band and it looks amazing next to her ering (and she figured at their 5 or 10 yr anniversary she will get another one to add on top of it). But the one thing i did not like about it is that you can never wear the wedding band alone...it looks pretty odd without having the ering next to it.

I had them custom make my band to fit my ring b/c there was a HUGE gap with the shape of my e-ring. I had them custom make my band but I knew that I might wanna wear it alone occasionally.....sooo, I had them make it an eternity band (3 sided to match my ering band) so even if I wanna wear it alone, I can just flip the custom shape part to the bottom so it's on the palm side and not visible.

I will have a slight gap, and I think most people do!

Really, if your rings move around a little bit, you will have the gap anyway.

i had the same problem and thought I would have a problem with it but I didn't like the idea of a non straight band. I love it now and i don't think the gap is a problem at all

I think most people have a bit of a gap, unless the rings are specifically made to go together.

I was originally going to have my wedding band contoured so it would fit close to my e-ring but I just thought it looked weird if I ever wore it alone. After wearing them together now for months, the gap doesnt even bother me and its actually pretty small so Ill prob keep it that way. I think it really depends on how big the gap is and your own personal preference.

There will be a small gap between my wedding band and e-ring. It doesn't bother me at all though. I'm not a big fan of the contour rings because I want the option of wearing my wedding band alone and wouldn't want to with a contour band.

Re: Gap between E-ring and Wedding Band

My e-ring is made to fit into a wedding band and there is no way I could wear a regular band with it. To get one made I have to take all the diamonds out and get it molded and that makes me nervous! In the midst of all that fh went out and bought matching wedding bands that are white gold when my e-ring is yellow! This whole ring thing is giving me a headache so I took a break from worrying about it for a while.
