Garden City Hotels - La Quinta vs. Hilton Garden Inn

Hi girls,

I went to look at La Quinta (on Stewart Ave) and Hilton Garden Inn (behind Bed, Bath, and Beyond and Benihana). To me, they seem comparable in terms of price, cleanliness, and room size. I was wondering if any of you have stayed at either place or booked them/used them for your wedding. Any feedback would be appreciated - both positive and negative. TIA

I am using Hilton Garden Inn and didnt have an issue with Nadine. Only once did it take about 2 phone calls before she called me back but after that never had an issue. She was very nice and helpful.

Re: Garden City Hotels - La Quinta vs. Hilton Garden Inn

I blocked both places due to likely *hopefully!)having a lot of OOT guests. We are staying at La Quinta afterwards and hope to have an afterparty there.

Does La Quinta have a bar for an after party? And for those who used their shuttle, how much was it? Thanks!

Yes, they have a small bar... It is in the lobby... Its right out in thr open but it has its own section with tables and chairs... Perfect for a small afterparty...

The shuttle is free when you have 15+ rooms booked with them (or if you dont need the shuttle, its $150 off the bridal suite)... it is only a 14 pax bus though... if you dont get that amt and want to rent it, i was told it is about $100 each way...

you need 15+ rooms booked for a free shuttle and i doubt we're going to have that many so we prob wont use it... i was going to rent it for the bp and us to use to get to and from the hall, but its about $100 each way for a 14 pax bus

That's not a bad deal. Ugh. Vendors I'm dreading: Hotel, Flowers, and Limos. I am putting them all off until the summer, but the info definitely helps. Thanks!

you can even put them off for longer if you want... i just blocked the hotel last month, flowers in feb i believe, and limos were still avail for my day just last month, but im not using any bc they are a rip off LOL so everything you mentioned, i was still able to book 6 months out
