Garter Toss..

ok well at your reception are you ladies doing the garter toss? I hear a lot of people find it dated, stupid .. or even embarrassing (for the single people to be singled out) but i love the part FH goes and takes the garter off the brides leg... i wasn't going to do the garter toss, but what are your thoughts on it ladies?

I'm not doing it for the simple reason that there will be like no unmarried people at my wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crazy right??? FH and I decided to do an anniversary dance and give the toss away bouquet to whoever's been married the longest.

I think its a lot of fun, if someone doesnt want to participate then they dont have too. My FSIL and her husband made it modern but pulling out a rabbit from under her dress. It was hysterical... nobody was expecting it!

I am going to do it, it has been done at every wedding I have ever been to and I like tradition. I think it's fun!!!

I'm def doing it....1/3 or more of my wedding will be 25 and are not married i think it would be fun!

I'm gonna do it. It's fun. Why not. I love the whole rabbit idea though. My FH loves to do things that surprise people.

I'm totally doing it, we just want our wedding to be really fun so my FH will be doing something similar to the rabbit!

I don't plan to do it, but i'm wearing a met's garter for my met crazed FH, (I'm a met fan as well, but he takes it to another level). So, it may be pointless to wear a novelty and not toss it. LOL

Part of me wants to, and part of me will be too embarassed. I don't think FH would want to do, he'll probably feel really weird in front of his family.

If we did it I'd get the Islanders garter, even though FH thinks it's gross haha. We probably won't end up doing it though because we're not adding extra time to the reception and don't want to take up too much time.

Same here...We went to a wedding recently and I felt bad for the bride and groom because nobody wanted to participate. It took a few mins but then people finally just started to go on the dance floor because they felt bad also.
