Garter/Bouquet Toss

Garter/Bouquet Toss

So i have a bit of a dilemma concerning the garter toss. I'm not really a big fan of the whole 'random guy puts garter on random girl' thing. I think that's unnecessary and uncomfortable. I still really want to throw my bouquet though (I like the tradition) and i want him to be able to remove the garter (well, HE wants to be able to remove the garter). So I'm trying to decide what to do afterwards. At my sister's wedding a few years ago, she had the two who caught the bouquet and garter dance (instead of him putting it on her leg). That's nice and all, but right now i'm kinda questioning how many single guys are even gonna be there. I have enough single girls for the bouquet toss, but most of the young guys there are newly married or engaged. So I'm not really sure how many there would be for the garter toss... and that just might be awkward. lol. BUT he still wants to remove it, so what do you think? He takes it off and then just kinda keeps it? (knowing him, he'd probably do something goofy, like putting it around his arm, or head). Or maybe he just tosses it into the crowd (not necessarily to a line of guys). Or we just hook it to the bouquet when I toss THAT? I really don't know what to do. But I definitely do wanna throw my bouquet. It's a tradition I've always kinda been waiting for. lol. I don't know why. And he definitely wants to remove the garter. It's kinda a fun fun tradition as well.

Any ideas?

I'm complicated but we were thinking of doing it this way based on numerous ideas i've seen posted around and kind of put together.

first we'll do the boquet toss, but instead of one boquet, have a collection of individual flowers so numerous people can catch.
Then we'll do the garter thing where he takes it off my leg.

Next There is a generation dance that you can do and at the end, the longest married couple will be the last on the dance floor. Basically all couples go to the dance floor then they have unmarried couples sit, then married less then a day then 1 year, 2 years, 5 year, until one couple remains. This is guaranteed to be my grandparents so we are going to present a small flower boquet and the garter to my grandparents.

You can do the bouquet and garter toss and give the people who catch them gifts, or centerpieces, and have them dance together. Or, you can toss the bouquet at the very end, into the whole crowd, as you leave, and he can take the garter off in private . . . . .

I love that! I'm definitely planning on doing that Generation Dance. Maybe i can still do my bouquet toss, but then have an extra small one for the Generation Dance Couple WITH the garter. i like that idea. I'll make a mental note.

Anybody else got any other ideas to throw my way?
