Garters... so ttdiff post got me thinking... w/ poll n pic!!!!!

I have been looking for garters off and on for a little while.
So far this is the FIRST one I REALLY like... and it matches my dress!!

BUT I don't know if I should buy it... it's $54.95 and I feel like that might be a lot for a garter but I'm not sure. WHAT ARE YOU GUYS SPENDING ON A GARTER?

I also plan on making a shadow box after the wedding and my garter will go in it... so that's my justification for spending more on it. Haha!! Does that work as a good enough reason? Should I go for it?

Also, where does the garter go on your leg? How far up? I don't know how many inches my leg is... so I will measure it to make sure it fits before I buy it. Does that make sense?? Should I do that??

i think you should buy it! you dont wanna settle for one you dont like just cuz its a few dollars cheaper!

does it come with a throw away one? dont know if you are even doing the whole garter toss but my set came with one for me, and one to throw for the toss

I dunno. Yes it matches your dress, but what makes that thing $54??? If its the sequins, im sure you can sew some on a plain garter for alot cheaper. Does it come with a throw away? If it comes with a throw away, then I might do it.

I put my garters on as far as the elastic would stretch which was like mid thigh I think.

Here is a link to the site and the reviews people wrote. Overall they say it's nicer in person and worth the money.

I don't think it comes with a toss garter though.

I do want it to be nice though because of the shadow box thing. Ahhh decisions decisions!!! it looks even nicer in the catalog I have then it does on the site.

I think this is why it's sooo expensive:
'imported the luscious, sequin-covered Alençon lace from France ' That's what I got off the site. I don't know anything about lace from France though. haha or lace from anywhere! My dress is all lace though and my veil has lace on it.

But yea it is $$$ for a garter which is why I am hesitant.

Ok personally, I wouldnt spend $54 on a garter bc it wasnt that important to me... I did spend around 15-20 I believe. BUT heres my thing...if you really want it, and its going to make you happy... BUY IT!!! It doesnt matter how many of us say it 'too much money'.... you'll always be thinking about it and look back and say 'd a m, maybe I should have gotten it'

I have bought many things that I didnt actually need... but I bought them bc it made me happy lol!!! FH said buying a carbox from the modern bride was a waste of money.. but to me, NO ITS NOT!! Those boxes come out looking gorgeous...so I told him to be quiet and bought it anyway

I say buy it, if you really want it... its not like its $200 or something....and Im sure you'd spend the $54 someplace else anyway, so thats the way I look at it lol

I personally wouldn't buy it, or spend any where near $54 for a garter.

But then again, most other people wouldn't spend $200 on venetian masks, especially from a company that is now not returning phone calls and emails

So my point is...what's important to you isn't always important to someone else, so if it's something that YOU want to splurge on that makes you feel good, do it!

I feel that its too much for it. Maybe you can find it cheaper? But if you really like it maybe you should buy it.

if u love it..go for it..some people spend 20 bucks on shoes while some spend 500 so price is not an issue ..if u love it get it..u dont want to be left wondering

its really pretty

I was thinking about that. I might hold off.
So $20 is about average... it's only $35 off from that... so ehh.. I'll check etsy and if I don't see anything then I will come back and buy this one. I think it's calling me!! hahahaha!! It just matches my dress with the lace and all.
