There has to be something I can do? Caiden has really bad gas everyday. He's not sleeping good, (neither am I ) We feel so bad. He could even be sleeping soundly, then all of a sudden he starts whailing, and then falls back asleep. He grunts and cries a lot trying to get the gas out, but most of the time, he can't. What can I do? He's only breastfeeding now, which I thought would reduce the gas, but apparently not, and now he's going to be getting a bottle here and there these next coming weeks. I can only imagine what kind of gas it'll give him on top of what he already has. I can't say he's colicky, just has a lot of gas. HELP!!!

Re: Gas issues...
Have you tried Mylicon? You can also run his legs like he is riding a bicycle. That helps break up the gas.

The drops are a God sent. you should try those. We even got the Target brand and they worked great. Also, what are you eating Melissa? If you are eating anything gassy such as a veggie or spicy food that could also make him gassy. On some of the bfing boards I have read posts about women needing to cut out certain foods from their diets or else their babies are fussy, gassy, etc...

Ryan had the exact same problem...see if you can cut dairy in your own diet if you are BFing. The drops only worked about 50% of the time but were better than nothing. I think it is very common in the beginning - eventually their little systems 'work the kinks out'...rub his tummy and move his legs as suggested above.
