There is a STRONG gas smell in NYC and Jersey. I'm at work and the smell is VERY strong and I'm located in Times Square. Our security department made an announcement over the loudspeaker saying Con Ed is investigating the odor, but we are still sitting here. I am SO scared!! I'm PREGNANT..this cannot be good to be breathing in!!! I'm feeling light headed!!!!
us too. i'm in herald square- i work in the office buildings above the mall
waht is going on? They evacuated macys which is next to us, but not our building yet
starting to get a headache, and getting nervous!

Now they are saying that path trains have been supsended between Hoboken and 33rd Street and Journal Square. Subway service hasn't been affected..but why in the hell are we still here.
The bad thing is my job doesn't know I'm pregnant (I'm new) and this is NOT the way I wanted to let them know..but I'm scared.

I am on 42nd and Madison and supposedly now they are saying the problem started in the rockerfeller center area.
It stinks by me but they made an announcement at my job and said the problem has been fixed.
I don't know sounds a bit strange to me.

I live right on 34th St. on the east side (ANGNICK...you don't work far from where I live!) - it stunk when I left for work!
There is a high school on my corner that they had already evacuated - got to work which is just a 10 min walk from where I live and it stinks here too...but they told us so far to stay put!
We'll see...
Funny though I'm hearing the leak started in the Chelsea area of Manhattan which leads me to believe they are clueless!!!

I smelled it this morning when I was downtown and couldn't believe the smell was following me everywhere I went. Now, I'm where I work at Columbia U and the smell is not here.
