Gatsby's?

Gatsby's?

Hi everyone-

I'm trying to find a place for my rehearsal dinner. The rehearsal is in Bellport, so I'm trying to find a place that isn't too far.

I don't live on LI anymore, so I don't know much about the new restaurants that are there. I see that a place called Gatsby's keeps coming up. Has anyone been there? Does anyone know if they do rehearsal dinners? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thank you!

They will definitely do rehearsal dinners. I checked them out for my e-party. However, i don't know of any other places to recommend in the bellport area.

Can you tell me anything else about them? What kind of food? Where are they? Roughly how expensive? How new are they?

Thank you so much!

Not sure where Bellport is, but I am having my RD at Mario Restaurant in Hauppauge, the food is excellent and they have a nice private room downstairs. http://www.restaurantmario.com

I looked into the gatsby, it's a restored mansion I believe and my wedding is mansion style so I didn't want to do that.

Hey I just got your FM but I'll answer ur questions as best I can here so others will know too.

They have a few different rooms, 3 or 4 upstairs, but there is no elevator access and one downstairs, and a sectioned off part downstairs.

I BELIEVE it was around 22-25 a person, could be more or less, I dont know but I am doing a luncheon. I think the dinner buffet style starts at 32. but again, I dont have the papers in front of me. It doesnt include alcoholic drinks, but we are getting a punch bowl for around $40-50.00

We are doing a luncheon the day before b/c quite frankly I dont trust my MOH or BM not to get too wasted the night before and I think this will keep them a little bit more under control.

It is a restored Mansion, beautifully decorated with big wing chairs, fireplaces, a HUGE bar area, big wooden stairs when u walk in, backed by a stained glass window.... in only 3 weeks I will have pics for u! ;)

THe private rooms keep with the theme too which I love. They are all uniquely decorated, not the typical restaurant style you see everywhere else.

It is in Islip village, right after 111 on main street/montauk Hwy. The nice thing about it is they give you a choice of 20 entrees to choose from and we get to pick 6. There is everything from chicken marsala to beef stir fry, a really big variety. When I had a dinner there with FH we had their filet mignon, it was soooo yummy.

Its about 20 minutes from us, maybe 25 since we are western suffolk, but where the heck in Long Island is there anything that ISN'T 20-25 minutes away. I think everyone is pretty much used to a short drive wherever you choose. :)

HTH! Please feel free to ask me anything I left out!

Just to add, the food is delicious! It is pretty expensive eating there at the restaurant (FI and I went and I think it was about $50 each), but it is beautiful inside. It opened maybe 4 months ago? Not too long ago...
