Gay, Straight or Lying? (not Tom Cruise related)

There was an article in today's sceicne times about bisexuality. It said that in men, those who claimed to be bisexual were actually either homosexual (more likely) or heterosexual, and that in arousal tests ALL men (including those caliming to be bisexual) showed that they were at least 4 times more attracted to one sex than the other, indicating by those standards that there really is no such thing as bisexuality in men.

Incidentally, in women, the same test showed that women were more likely to show attraction to both sexes.

The complicated thing is that these tests only show physical arousal, and many self proclaimed bisexuals claim that more than phsical arousal goes into the whole picture of attraction.

Do you believe that bisexualit as a stable sexual preference exists? Or do you think these people are just confused or scared into staying in the closet? is it different for women and men?

I think it can and does exist. I think many people are attracted to all different types of people, people of the opposite and same sex. I haven't really thought too much about it, but I say it's possible that bisexuality exists in both men and women.

I'm not sure on this issue. I have a lot fo friends who are bisexual, or who claim to be gay, but date opposite sex people or vice versa. I think maybe htere are a lot of people who are open to falling iin love with anyone regardless of gender, but it seems like there HAS to be some preference? no? Also, a slight attraction to the same sex doesn't necessarily make someone bisexual. I think it would have to be more than 'I think angelina jolie is hot' to consider someone bisexual.

I think they are just being greedy!!!

Seriously, I don't think that you can piegonhole attraction. A lot of people that are bisexual are trying to find determine their sexuality, but I also believe that people can be attracted to a person regardless of their sex.
