I was torn between which hotel to go with for getting ready day of/and spending the first night with fh. I originally booked the GC hotel, which is gorgeous inside(lobby wise)...but I decided to go with Wyngate after seeing both rooms today. The GC hotel doesnt have any bridal suites availabe because of renovations (they dont know where they are going to be working in april), AND they DO NOT let you take pictures anywhere in the hotel or outside if you are not getting married there. They said I could take pics in my room of course, but I really wanted some nice pics in the lobby, outide... The rooms they have available are also not big enought for my 10 bridesmaids and I. I would need to get 2, and it just seems like a waste. since we only need 1 at the end of the night. Wyngate has a few bridal suites and I was able to get their biggest one for my day and it is HUGE, it is also way cheaper than the GCH. They were also super nice and accomodating. If anyone else is debating, def check out Wyngate!

Re: GC hotel vs. Wyngate Inn
we went with the Wingate Inn too - they are soooo nice and, like you said, accommodating... are you having your Reception at a place where the Wingate offers shuttle service???

OOOOhhh... you are!!! we are having our Reception at the same RH... SMCC!!! Anywho - if you have your guests stay at the Wingate - with every 15 nights that are booked, you get a FREE shuttle service (one way)... totally worth holding aside a bunch of rooms for you OOT guests. HTH

Re: GC hotel vs. Wyngate Inn
FYI - Unless you are having your wedding at the GC hotel, you can ONLY take pictures inside your rooms - not anywhere else in the hotel or on the grounds.

Don't just think of OOT guests - most of our friends and BP are staying there over night b/c we're having a GTG at the bar in the hotel - for $100 a bartender keeps the bar open until 4am... it's a cash bar - but worth it. It'll be a lot less formal and intimate...

Re: GC hotel vs. Wyngate Inn
The GC hotel may have other suites available. We stayed there on our wedding night in a great suite - They upgraded us for free - without telling us. It was a great surprise to open the door when we got there!
Our guests stayed at the Wingate and my DH got ready / took pics there. I'll have to see what the proofs look like, but everyone was happy with the hotel. They were very nice and accomodating and let them take pictures everywhere.

I booked Wingate too for my block and Jr. suite for night before (so I can get ready with my girls in) and night of. They have been nothing but accomodating and the hotel is very clean & has a more boutique feel. We're also paying $100 to keep the bar open late and will possibly be renting a room for a brunch the next morning. Good Choice!
