So when the baby is out does the GD go away? Sorry for a dumb question....but what happens now? Does it just disappear? Can you have cookies?

Re: GD question - Michele or others...
Most of the time, the GD does go away post-partum. However, there is a small percentage of women who don't have such luck. Unfortunately, they do not test you again until 6-8 weeks post-partum.
Even if the GD does go away, chances are good that a permanent (ie: lifetime) moderate diet plan should be followed, since a woman with GD is more likely to develop diabetes later in life, or have GD again with another pregnancy.

Re: GD question - Michele or others...
POOF, it vanishes!!!! I was only checked twice while in labor and then never checked again AT ALL, although I checked myself the day after I had the cub and it was totally normal (which I couldn't get to even with the insulin).
Like Claud said, 6 weeks post-partum I had to take a 2 hour glucose test to make sure that it was still normal.
Do you have it?
