Geico insurance is now back in NJ

How many of you girls had Geico... and had to switch (unwillingly) because you moved to NJ and they didnt offer insurance there.

Well... now they do! Big news! I am a loyal Geico customer and one of the pains of possibly buying a house in NJ was the car insurance issue. Don't have to worry now.

NJ is still the most expensive state for insurance... but hopefully this information will help some of you out.

That is awesome.
I had a very hard time finding insurance when I moved. Thankfully DH's company participates in this NJ business association so we were able to get NJ Manufacturers- only $1200 for the year- cheaper than my queens insurance

i had geico in ny, but when we moved to nj i transferred my insurance to pallisades, which geico told me is their nj affiliate and my policy would still be adminstered be geico. i'm still confused about it. i wonder if it will be cheaper for me to switch back to geico.

sassy--my DH works for a company that participates too, but my DH said it was a pain in the a$$ to get coverage and they could drop you for any little thing. How do you like the coverage and how's the customer service?

i just got a quote to stay with geico and drop the pallisades and it is $1200 cheaper! I thought it would be the same since pallisades is part of geico. yay! Now we just have to get DH's car registered in NJ so we can make the switch.

I currently have allstate....but I am going to look into geico. Do they have homeowners insurance also, or just automobile?

To be honest....my car insurance in NJ is less than it was in Queens....even after I added a second car (DH's) to the policy!!!

ETA: Ok....did the online quote thing....my rate with Allstate is still $500 cheaper than the quote I got with geico....I guess I'm keeping Allstate.

I had no problem getting covereage through NJ Manufacturers and had no problem with customer service.. I'm very satisfied, and they pay you dividends every year.

now i'm going to have to look into the nj manufacturers and allstate. the rate i had with pallisades was 3175/yr for 2 cars. geico was only about 1900. do you think i'd do better elsewhere?

luvsun--i asked today if they have homeowner's insurance in nj and they said not yet but to check back in a few months because they are probably going to try to offer it in the future.

LOL i literally just dropped Geico last week because I moved to NJ. How ironic!

ETA we have MetLife for both homeowners and car and it is very affordable.
