gel is the regular acrylic, i dont think look very natural but they usually use that powder that tuns to gel...
the uv one uses those uv light boxes you gotta stick your hand in, theyre permenant french, so they dont chip and last sooo much longer that gel... i get this done every 3-4 weeks and it still looks awesome, theyre very natural looking, and well worth it, and BONUS you dont have to sit and dry after woop woop

dude uv gel takes 2 hrs to fkn do.. yea u dont have to sit there n let it dry.. but it takes 2 HOURS!!! shfkjhdsfhdsjfhdkhfdkjshfkjsd no1 told me that
ugh they were sooo uncomfyy
they last like 4 weeks buttttttttttt i was (still am) taking biotin so in 2 weeks my nails grew sooo long. i couldnt wait to take them off.
yes, for a wedding uv gell fo sho! but i dont know how u wear long nails everydya

i know they do take foreverrrrr which is why i try to hold out as long as possible cuz im just too lazy
i keep them really reallllly short like just at my fingertips, and even then when they start growing out i cant deal so idk how people with like claws do anything, those things are like weapons
UV gel takes about an hour and a half but I loved them, I got that for my wedding - BUT it was a real PIA to find someone who did a great job, glad I started getting them done early
Gel Manicure is a gel polish that doesnt chip like a regular mani would
BTW I only paid 45 for UV gel, I think 80 is a ripoff...

you can get them any length u want, I keep mine like right at my fingertip so they're really short and easy

UV is the best. It is only $20 for regular and $28 for the French in Maspeth. It takes about an hour.

I found even the $30 gel manicure to be a rip off. It looked nice for about 5 days, but then the polish starts to get cracks in it and it got dirty in the cracks on my HM from the sand and beach. Its gross and it was impossible for me to remove it.
Then to take it off you have to have your nails soaked in acetone for 20 mins. My salon charged me for this!!!!!!
Not worth it IMO. Just get a regular mani and take it off before your HM or bring the polish for touch-ups.

UV gel doesn't use any nail polish. The regular gel just goes over you mani like a top coat. I just got the UV done, my regular nail length so it doesn't feel weird like tips or wraps do.

I got the UV Gel manicure the day before my wedding. Honestly, when they were first put on I wasn't happy with the length as they were way too long for my taste....pluc I felt like I couldn't do anything (write, button a shirt, etc)! This past weekend though I went to get them filled in and they cut them down and now I am SO happy with them. I will definitely be keeping them at this length as they are so nice and natural looking. I am just nervous though to see how my natural nails are going to be after I eventually take them off.....

the $80 price sounds like it includes tips. when i did the UV with the tips for the wedding it was around that price (actually a little more), but i LOVED it!!!!!
i got them filled in and cut down for only $35 and kept those for another month
last week i got them removed and just did the OPI UV gel manicure (they removed the tips and used the colored UV gel nail polish) and that was about $25.
i think it depends if you like your nail shape now or if you want tips.

i got an OPI color gel (UV) and wasn't that impressed. sure it didn't chip for the first 5 days or so, but after a week they started peeling off.
