ok im like super high maint. when it comes to my pedicures.
i get silk wraps on my toes lmao
i never had gel thingies on my fingernails though. those who get them done, how long does it take.. how long does it last and how short can i get them?? do you love it? should i just get reg acryllics???
im taking epix nov 25th. im leaving on saturday. if i get a reg french mani the morning i leave for vaca... my naisl will be SHOT the next day. so i figure gel thingie will last all vacation.
or should i just get a french mani on the boat??

Get the UV Gel tips the paint wont chip with the UV Gel. Thats what my mom gets but I just do regular acryicls right now because Im a cheapo and FH hates that I even get my nails done.

do you want to keep tips on? my suggestion -- go to CVS and buy the boxed nails. they are so easy to put on. only cost $6...and after the pics you can take them off without damagin your nail
i did this for my epics and it worked fine. i actually did it for the 2010 shower too cuz i was bored.
i plan to do real tips for the wedding, and keep them on the whole HM.
but for something as quick/simple as e-pics, i would suggest the drugstore variety

I get two toned acrylic.. white for tips and pink for base.. i LOVE them and they are 'built' to my nail.. none of that plastic cr ap!

Don't get acrylic. I'd go with silk wraps or gel. It took like a year for my nails to grow out after I had my tips removed. There were huge dents in my nails and they were so soft and week bc of the tips.

i dont like longnails. i pre cut my finger and toenails cuz if the nailplace cuts the they arent short enough to my liking.. i cut them REAAAAAAAAAALLLLY SHORT
can that be done with the uv gel?? i dont like my nail to grow past my skin

sorry, I just wanted to add/explain something. there's a difference between acrylic built and acrylic with tips. I used to get tips.. they glue these on your fingers then go over it with acrylic... THAT is bad! because they are PUSHING and using glue to get it to stick... that leaves bumps and makes your nails soft.
I get acrylic 'built'.. (aka- pink and whites) pink and whites) are a lot better. They are strong, but don't mess with your real nail. IF mine break, my nail underneath is strong and think and there is no 'cut'. I go to my friends shop in west islip.. a single (fill in with just pink) is $25.00 and a double (fill in with white and pink) is $30.00. AND she'll make them whatever size/length you want.
I used to get silk wrap, honestly, I hated them.. I felt like my nails were slimy.. don't ask. I just didn't like them at all.

A few weeks ago I got a gel manicure. I didn't get tips they just put it on my nail. They put glue, buff it, then put the gel then the polish. It was HORRIBLE!!! It was flaking off within a day AND my nails under still had all the glue and look like crap now. I'll never do it again...

i would just get uv french. its amazing, ive never ever had them break. 2 places by us that ive gone to that does it really well. theres like variations on how places do it...fm me if you want
on your fingers then go over it with acrylic... THAT is bad!
