Yes 2nd trimester usually after 17 or 18 weeks.

And sometimes the baby doesn't let them see![]()
You usually have a 20something week sonogram that can show the gender.

Funny you say that Michelle. When my cousin was pregnant through out her entire pregnancy the baby was always in a position where you couldnt see. So her and everyone had to way till the little peanut was born.
