When Vendors ask about your other appointments, how do you respond?
I always feel put on the spot when I get this question.

Re: General Vendor Question
I tell them exactly who their competition is.

I agree. Be completely honest. It will help you get a better price if they know what they are up against.

Re: General Vendor Question
I've never been asked about who else I was meeting with...if I would have been asked, I would have told them 'Right now I'm meeting with you, and that's all I'm concentrating on.'

Re: General Vendor Question
Agreed - I tell them exactly who I'm meeting with. I've definitely got better prices because of this.

So far, none of the vendors I am meeting with have asked me this question!

Re: General Vendor Question
I tell them who their competition is and how much they are charging. I like to see if they will match or lower their prices. I like to be honest and upfront with them and see if they will work with me.

Re: General Vendor Question
I've told them where else I have looked and it didn't help at all with getting a better price...

Re: General Vendor Question
Only one vendor didn't ask me this question. But everyone else has. Very uncomfortable feeling.

Re: General Vendor Question
Whenever I told them who their competition was I either got 'we're better than them' And/OR I'll match their price or do better.
