George Washington Manor

Hello everyone! I am looking around for reception halls and I have two in mind so far. I like Brentwood Country Club and George Washington Manor. I have not visited George Washington Manor yet and I wanted to know if anyone knows if it is really expensive there and is it nice? I would really appreciate feedback. Thanks ladies!

I don't know about the price but my mom went to her friend's daughters wedding there and said it was fantastic and the food was delicious! HTH

We had our reception at George Washington Manor. We had about 100 guests. The cost was very reasonable. We had the Presidential Room. All my guests raved about the venue and the food.

I was at George Washington Manor about 2 months ago. They are going under new ownership and their prices are going up. I thought they were a little expensive to begin with considering the size of the place. They had to call me back with an estimated price of what it might be... and it was $20 more /pp. I just didn't think it was worth paying almost $120/pp for. There was just many other places we could go and get more for that kind of money.

But the place is nice for a small wedding and the staff is nice & helpful

The GWM was actually my original choice for my wedding but their largest room would have been cutting it close w/our number of invites (150 max)so we ended up elsewhere, but I loved them!! Instead as a surprise my bridal shower was thrown there and I have to say they did an AMAZING job. We were in the Cottage which is separate from the main house, but the service was great and the food was excellent. I highly recommend them for someone looking for a smaller, more intimate setting. Good luck w/your decision!

I was going to actually recommend GWM to my mom & sister for my bridal shower. I just hope they don't plan on charging what they do for a wedding.

Good luck with that. They most likely will charge no where near that amount for a bridal shower. When catering halls hear 'wedding', they know that they can make a profit around here. Showers are usually during the day and day stuff is almost always way affordable.

They also have different prices for different days and times of day; if you are willing to go for a Friday night or a day wedding, they are much less. I think that their main room would be gorgeous for a day wedding w/the glass walls.
Good luck!
Also, fyi, their prices for a bridal shower are absolutely much less!
