Re: George Washington Manor
we almost booked there but the room was too small for our amount of guests---the food is utterly amazing--the grounds are extrememly limited BUT there is a nice park-the Roslyn Duckpond down the block which is where most couples take their pictures--they have a cute chapel that you can have your ceremony in. The prices vary depending on what time of year and what day of the week--i could be wrong, but I think a sunday night or afternoon was the cheapest--if you decide to go ask to see Barry or Janine - they're so sweet and such a pleasure to work with--I think there is a danielle there too---
as for the relation to the milleridge-they have the same owners but from what I hear the food @ the GWM is a little better but that again is just what I heard--haven't experienced it myself!

Re: George Washington Manor
Both places are owned by the same owners...and I looked at both when I was shopping for halls for our wedding. I thought the upstairs room with all the windows was beautiful and the downstairs room with the fire place was a bit too colonial for my liking. For the downstairs room they were going to section off the cocktail area from the main restaurant and I wasn't happy with the lack of privacy. Additionally, we had many seniors attending our wedding as guests...and the rest room for the pretty upstairs room is downstairs..and I knew that would be a problem for us.
Personally, I've eaten at both restaurants and I prefer the food at the Millerridge...although you should note that the chef for the restaurant at Millerridge is different from the banquet facilities. I took my aunt to GW for a mother's day brunch and was very disappointed.
My major issue with the GW was the valet service. EAch time I've gone there as a regular patron I've had to wait waaay too long for my car. It became so frustrating that we no longer go there to eat.
We finally decided to have our reception at the Carriage House @ Millerridge. We had 80 guests and we're absolutely thrilled with our experience! (We just celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary and I watched the wedding video last night..and the memories are flooding back! Feel free to FM me with any other ?s.) Good luck with your planning!

Re: George Washington Manor
My father got remarried a few years ago and his wedding was there. It was fantastic!! The food was great (better then Milleridge INN). I would recommend..
If my father hadn't gotten married there, I would have had mine there!
