Wow, that's a pretty low salary - I had no idea. They deal with a lot of craziness for that amount of money.

$30K-$40K a year for a full time job in NY?

no wonder so many people 25-35 still live with their parents or are moving down south!

not to mention you only get Xmas off, every other holiday you have to work (unless they've changed since I left)...

you also have to work in the restaurant on holidays- basically managing a room, seating guests, bussing tables, etc- you don't get any extra pay and you don't get tips. You work 10 hours on that day with no real break- save 20 minutes to wolf down some food.

you also have to take reservations for the restuarant and deal with all incoming calls that come in.

Wow, I wonder if the BM who helped me quit. She was excellent and very professional so if that's the case I hope she moved on to better things.

they have SOME turn over there.

when I was there we got a schedule every 2 weeks and it changed every 2 weeks. The new schedule would only come out when the old one was pretty much over- so you could never plan anything. If you wanted a doctors appointment you had to request specific days.

I rarely had 2 days off in a row.

Oh- and we didn't really get lunch either- we were expected to eat at the desk.

If no one came in and if we didn't have work to do- we had to basically sit there- we could not read, barely talk- we just had to sit there. it was SO stupid.

Well, being a graduate student I must admit that the salary looked okay to me -- but I'm insane.

Does anyone know who they are replacing? I'm getting married at the GWM in October and Danielle is my BM and I LOVE her -- my FH and I booked b/c of her!
