Has anyone gone to Germany for their honeymoon? Is there any especially beautiful place to go/resort? Any comments on Germany in July? Thanks!!!!

I lived In germany for many years..but I was young..I have had a few friends who have vactioned there recently .but Ive heard lately taht it isnt what it used to be unfotunately. if you want..you can FM me..and I can put you in touch with friends of mine who stiil live there or who have vactioned there. Ive herad that its not as safe as it once was. ( I lived in Munich...dad was Military)

I was on the student exchange in '92. We were in Berlin for a week then the Bavarian Forrest for 3 weeks. Its BEAUTIFUL in the south! Munich is beautiful.. from what I can remember

germany is a GREAT place..atleast it was when I Lived there..but Ive just heard it changed thats all. Its sad..because there is soooooomuch to do..Ive just heard it isnt all safe anymore. I may be wrong....donmt go by what ai say,checak it out.I just have a few friends who are stiil ether and a few friends who still visit and they say everything has changed.

i feel bad..I shouldnt discourage you..I dont live there anymore...its been along time since I have...Germany is a beautiful place and there is alot to do..there are beauitful castles, cathedrals, you can do anything there...if ya go in late september you can see the Okotoberfest..and there are so many wonderful cities in germany, Muich, Frankfurt, Heidleburg, berlin etc. I shouldnt have sadi it wasnt safe...im sure it still is..it just isnt the same as when I lived there..but so what..it doesnt mean it wouldnt make for a nice honeymoon.

DH and I went to Germany on our HM -- Oktoberfest in Munich (9/2001). Munich was beautiful, great restaurants, lots of historical interests, and nightlife. We took a bike tour through the city, great park and zoo. We drove into the Alps to see the famous castles and into small villages. The mountains are just breathtaking and very romantic. And of course, Oktoberfest! (It's only the last 2 weeks of September). I found the city to be very clean and quite safe.

My family is from the Bavaria area of Germany and I've been there several times and loved it each time.
Some of my favorite spots are Oberamagau (houses painted with scenes of fairytales), Neuschweinstein Castle, Herr Chiemsee castle on a lake.
I also love Austria espeically Salzburg and you can do this by car if you are staying in Germany.

I visited Germany in November of 2000. We stayed in Munich and visited Oberamagau, Neuschweinstein Castle, Dachau and a few other places. I wandered Munich by myself and had a great time visiting the little shops and cafes - I felt comfortable and safe. I learned key German words but didn't really need to - everywhere we went, everyone spoke English.
It was a beautiful city and I would DEF go back again...I would visit more places outside of Munich - the Black Forest, Austria, etc.
