I agree with your mother. I think you will find something else and probably love it even more. The friendship is definitely another issue. I'm really sorry to hear about it. Weddings bring all kinds of weird issues out of people and whatever hers is, it defies my understanding. But take care of yourself in this situation and do what is best for you. She is clearly doing what's best for her. As much as a falling out with a 'friend' hurts, be grateful for who you are, especially if you could never picture yourself doing what she did. In the end, the happier person is not the one who tramples on people in their way (and at any cost) to get what they want. Hang in there...keep venting here if it helps.

Although you may be upset at your supposed dear friend, as I would be. This may have been a sign that you should not get the dress. My motto is 'Things happen for a reason' I also believe that Karma will come back to haunt your friend.
Think real hard about wether this dress is more important than your friendship too. If she didn't know that you wanted the dress, you can't really blame her for that. Although it was real sneaky of her to do that reverse pychology thing. But now you have a chance to find a better dress than hers. And just think, since her wedding is before yours, you can see all the mistakes she made and make yours an even better wedding.

How did you find out she is getting the same dress?

With all the wedding gowns out there, she had to choose the one you liked? Unbelievable. I agree that you should take it as a sign that that dress is not the one for you and keep looking. I had a blast getting my gown. Also, I believe in Karma and what she did to you will come back to bite her someday.
Lisa Bari - She is in Oceanside. Her number is 536-9135.
I think it's great that you and your FI are so fortunate to have parents that can 'do' for you without holding it over your head or being bossy.

I am so sorry that she did this to you. I do agree that thereare so many dresses out there and you are bound to find another but if this is the one you want, dont let her ruin your happy day. She obviously is not a good friend, she definitely knew what she was doing. I agree that you should let her know how you feel and pick someone who you will feel comfortable with for the months to come. Good luck.
