'Get out of the house' job ???

OK, I'm in the 'I gotta get out of the house' mood, but I dont want to leave my baby anywhere...SOOO I was thinking of working at a preschool or daycare just part time so I can take him with me. Ive heard that some daycares allow this...(baby is in their daycare while you work)
Just a few hours a day to get out of the house, or maybe full time depending on the situation...

Anyone have other ideas ? I was also thinking the Y or a gym...

How about something in a doctors office? The hours are usually great!

How about something along the lines of a Pampered Chef hostess? One of my friends does this as side work and loves it! It's as busy as you make it..she does a few parties a month, and makes a decent commission and gets to keep what she sells.

Yes Avon and do you have any stuff you can make or have to sell on Ebay?

Anna, I am soooo IN THE SAME BOAT!!! But, I agree...I would want to find something where I could have the baby with me somehow.

I've thought about Pampered Chef too, but I'd have to give up nights/weekends to host the parties...I'd really prefer something during the day for a few hours and still have time w/DH when he's not working.

How about a health club -- either working IN the nursery watching the other kids; or working the front desk and keeping the kids in the nursery there - so you're in the same building. Gyms actually pay fairly decently, and its a great place to socialize!

How about a pampered chef instructor.. its only like 2 hours a night when you do the party and you get GREAT stuff and you get a pretty good check for the party...i know someone who does it and they said its perfect because she does it like 2 or 3 nights a week and its at night so her husband is home with the baby..

I work at a community center with a daycare and some of my co-workers children are in daycare for free or half-price. i think that it is a real good idea and they love it also.

Edited because i'm an english major who cannot spell

It has to be a 'get out of the house' thing, not 'stay in the house and host people' LOL.

Jennbaby-im just not a homebody type of person. I like my time at home, I love my home, but anyone would get restless being in the house day in and day out. with just a baby. I am SOOO not the type that has to have time 'away' from my baby, thats why I want to take him with me.
Alot of friends and family with good intentions are always like 'you 2 go out, I'll babysit' and right now, I dont feel a desire or need to be without my baby. We enjoy the time with him !
Maybe when he's a toddler, I'll take them up on that offer ! I got lucky, hes a great baby, never whining or fussy...

Desyre- a few places have told me that they would give me discounted daycare.

I felt like telling them...
Im not that desperate to get out of the house, that I wouldn't spend more (on the daycare) than the pocket change that i'd make there... (even discounted prices are ridiculous out here)... just wouldnt make any sense.

Id rather spend that money on mommy and me classes or something fun...
