So ladies.. What are you guys doing to get in shape for the big Day?
I want to hear whats working for ya and what isn't.
Especially workouts/classes/foods or diets.
Since last December I've lost almost 10 lbs.. at first most of it I lost doing Weight Watchers. Now I just eat small portions every couple of hours.
I bought the Windsor Pilates w/ the sculpting circle. Have to say I love it! It's def helping me lean out, and making my stomach mucles more defined.. (sometimes you can see them)
I don't have a gym membership right now.. but I only have 5 months left to lose the last 5 lbs.
I'm thinking of joining the Gold's gym by me.
Any of you doing personal training?
I need tips to lose the last 5!!!! I'm stuck here right now I really want to get rid of it by Feb for my fittings, and thats like 3 months away!

This is crazy. I was just outside on a smoke break thinking of bringing this topic up. And what to title it. LMAO! Great minds think alike.

Re: Gettin in Shape for the Big Day
I have been on WW for over 2 years and have lost 30 pounds. Ultimately, I'd like to lose another 10 more but if I just tone my body, I'd be happy too.
I have been walking on the treadmill at an incline (FH says it helps your thighs and buns). I think I am seeing a difference. I have the Winsor Pilates tapes and that has helped too. Now I started the Bow Flex that my brother bough. I want to incorporate resistance training to help with those last few pounds.

Re: Gettin in Shape for the Big Day
haha yes great minds think alike! We should start a Weight Watcher Support thread!!! That's a great idea too!!!
I think resistance training is definetly the best.
And when I used to walk the treadmill the incline definetly helps, you do see a difference!
I'm excited to go to the gym later! That'll last a week No I will stick with it!

Re: Gettin in Shape for the Big Day
I'll have to admit, I'm just lazy. By the time I get home, I'm so tired or I have a headache (long story) that the gym is the furthest thing from my mind. I try to go straight from work, but forget my gym clothes. It's always something So, I'd hate to pay for WW and still sit my fat butt on the couch And remedies for laziness? LOL

Re: Gettin in Shape for the Big Day
I had joined WW last year and dropped out after three weeks. I started it back up myself, didn't join because I don't want to spend the $$ so I'm just following it myself since I already have the books. I'm getting an exercise bike next week from a friend, so I'm planning to start that then.....too cold to go walking or jogging.
Also, I hear you about the laziness...it's really hard..........you can always think of a million and one reasons why not to exercise. My final motivation was standing on the scale and knowing that my dress won't fit me if I don't lose weight!

Re: Gettin in Shape for the Big Day
I go to Jazzercise. I have been going for about 2 - 3 years for 3 or 4 nights a week on an off ...but in January I stepped it up to two classes a night and watched what I was eating... I dropped 20 lbs in about 3 months and I am at the happiest I have ever been (well since I was 19)

Re: Gettin in Shape for the Big Day
I am not doing any special diet just watching what I eat. I used to love working out to the Firm tapes but I have knee issues so I had to stop. I am rebuilding my knee muscles using a stationary bike. Once I am ready its back to the Firm. I lost 20lbs doing the Firm and watching my portions. Good luck to everyone.

Re: Gettin in Shape for the Big Day
I have been taking taekwondo for the last 4 years now...so that is my regular 'workout' routine...i really don't 'diet'...was psycho about food from 9th grade on up, so trying not to fall back into bad habits of starving myself...just try to eat healthy...but enjoy my snacks and McDonalds once in awhile
Used a person trainer to prepare for my black belt test last Oct...also started running...between the two, mixed with regular tkd classes i was in amazing shape....muscle all over...not sure i lost much weight but my body composition definetly changed...of course i didn't keep up with the crazy training...but recommend a personal trainer...knowing i was meeting with him kept me motivated and focused...i never skipped a session because i was tired or didn't feel like it becuase it cost me! I plan on using him again about 2months out from my wedding to tone up again...also started running again

Re: Gettin in Shape for the Big Day
I'm on WW too! As far as working out, I just started spin classes and that's awesome. Great work out. As far as personal training, I've had them before and they are worth every penny. My body was amazing when I had my trainer. I saw him 3x a week for an hour and I looked great. However, if you are on austerity b/c of the wedding like I am, it's quite an expense.
If you don't want to join the gym, if you have I.O. cable, go on mag rack on demand and there are a ton of different work outs you can do. I did the belly dancing one a few weeks ago and it was a lot of fun and I was sweating my a$$ off.

Re: Gettin in Shape for the Big Day
I really do not have much weight to lose about 5-7 pounds. After I read this post I order windsor pilates because want to firm up my flabby arms and look sexy in my bikini on my HM. I have been trying to eat health. We have to buddy up and beat each other up when we get lazy

Re: Gettin in Shape for the Big Day
I lift weights at home, and eat small meals ALLLL day. My biggest thing is having my arms ripped for my dress. I'm 80 percent there, otherwise weight really was never an issue for me. I have 7 more months, so I'm not worried. It's a life style, and drinking DOESN'T help at all.

Re: Gettin in Shape for the Big Day
I go to Step Aerobics at Bally's and eating small portions. But the most fun way that I'm trying to get in shape is through my new Personal Trainer. And she's a LIW Vendor I have a real Vendor RAVE for her, she's great - Rhonda from RJ's Personal Fitness. FM me if you want more info, I've only had a couple of sessions w/her and I already feel like a new woman!
