Getting a cheaper price (How did you do it)

Getting a cheaper price (How did you do it)

So I need opinions on what you think the best way to get a discounted price is..Should I just outright ask or offer to take things off the menu or offer a high minimum (which would be hard because we are trying to keep it pretty small 75-85) and most places want at least a 75 min.

TIA

be honest. Just tell them your situation. If all yu can afford is $100. Tell them! they want your business...they worst they can say is no!
I did it with my RH. I had one RH give me a great price but I didnt love that RH so I called my RH now and told them: This RH gave me this price but i want to book with you...what can you do?
AND they said yes!!
Good Luck!

I found we were able to get the price down if we guaranteed a lot of people but while getting the price down, we also go them to include a sushi bar and shrimp/clam bar.

I think they really work with you more if you guarantee a larger amount. But it doesn't hurt to see what you can do without. They want the business as much as possible.

Definitely just be straight out with them...and be FIRM, remember they want your business, tell them that you got cheaper quotes elsewhere and if they can't accomadate you then you'll have to except those other quotes and you'll see how fast they change things around.

I asked.

We have a small minimum (100) and at first it was X price, and I said:

'We are paying for this wedding ourselves, what kind of things can we do to bring the price down?'

I had to change my date, BUT I got a Saturday night (instead of a Friday in a peak month) and they let me keep the lower minimum, and they threw some things in and I got a lower per plate price. I just keep asking them for things when I think of them... sometimes they say no, sometimes they don't.

My RH and their staff and their other services have been nothing but wonderful... I can't say enough nice things about them.

I have a small wedding of 75. I looked around for the best places that would offer me the most for the amount they were charging, and of course the food needed to be great.

I have situations where the menu was extensive and the price for the RH was low, but the quality of the food lacked.

Also, if you can be flexible on the day and time of the week you are having your wedding, you can really find prices drop. I got a Sunday night wedding for my hall during the month of June, that would have been the price of a Saturday night wedding in the month of January/February.

According to FH don't offer to give up anything tell them your price range and see what they can do to match it If they don't be cool and leave. Give them a call in a few days and see if they will come down at this point and stay firm on your price range. If at that point they won't budge then try to see what you can change on the menu that would bring you to your price. We got our RH down by a few thousand and never gave up anything!!!
