I'm lost.... I got to get this before the ceremony right? Or is it called something else? Ai Ai Ai...
Please tell me what I need, where to go, when to go and all this. I'm in Nassau if that makes a difference... TIA!!

you go to any town hall... You can do it up to 60 days before the wedding, but do NOT go the day before. The certificate is only valid the DAY AFTER you go. The cost is $40.00 payable in money order or check.
You have to bring id (license & birth certificates) & you have to go together.

You can go to any town hall or county clerk for the license. You can get it up to 60 days before, but must wait 24 hours before getting married. And I think it costs $40
do you need to bring final divorce papers if there was a previous marriage?

Previous Marriages Information regarding previous marriages must be furnished in the application for a marriage license. This includes whether the former spouse or spouses are living, and whether the applicants are divorced and, if so, when, where and against whom the divorce or divorces were granted. A certified copy of the Decree of Divorce or a Certificate of Dissolution of Marriage may be required by the clerk issuing the marriage license.

go to town hall. FH and I got ours last week in long Beach. it was super easy. You have to pay a fee of 40 something $

you give it to the pastor who is marrying you and they have to have at least ONE person sign it as a witness to the ceremony and they have to mail it out within 15 days of the ceremony and you'll get the 'official' license in the mail.
