Getting a 'theme'

Getting a 'theme'

My dillemma is we are two very eclectic and different people and trying to zero in on a theme is difficult. I'm Italian, He's Irish....we want to have our reception at this place that, more or less, is on the premises of a Japanese restaurant. I wouldn't mind going with a Japanese theme, but I want to have my Italian wedding cake and other italian traditions!!!! At the same time, we love music and want to bring classic soul into the mix.

Short of having an 'Around The World Wedding', I dont see how all of my ideas can come to play without it being really cheesy. Then again...maybe we are cheesy and we should just go with it!!

Sorry for the rant...but any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Getting a 'theme'

I like the idea of having a little bit of culture. I was thinking of naming the tables after places we've traveled to, you could name countries that are important to you.

I'm having a slightly similar problem, I'm having a wedding on the beach, but not a beach theme.
Good luck!

I don't think you necessarily need to create a 'theme' per say....I would just do everything the way you want..and in the end it will all come together!!!!
