We have plenty of blocked sites at my job too. This keeps me going through the day. If they take it away, I'll be bumed. ![]()

we don't have any blocked sites-- my boss is awesome. his daughter is getting married and i even send him links that i find about her hall...
he knows that i get my $hit done when i need to-- and other times, there is a lot of down time so if i'm on here it's better than being bored and doing nothing.
he's the best boss though-- people wear jeans and flip flops everyday and he gives them the freedom to basically do whatever they want-- and people respect him for that and work harder as a result... and he has a very successful business and office.
also, everyone gets along really well which you usually never find in offices-- we all like each other, joke around, etc.
that stinks for you though-- i guess just post at home then![]()

luckily where i work they are very liberal and don't care if we are on the internet as long as the work gets done... sorry you got caught!!

Im the one who controls the internet here, so i keep anythign id want to visit open haha...
for the most part theres really nothign blocked, b/c people here would be noticed if they didnt do work (its a small business)

I'm on the other side too, I can administer what gets blocked and what doesn't.
I see this from a different point of view and there are many people here who used to spend hours surfing the net and not get their job done.
I say, if it's done during lunch hour, on normal break time, or if it's not interfering with productivity, there should be no problem with it.
But it takes too much time to seek out the ones who aren't being responsible so anything potentially not business related is blocked.
There was someone who was fired from the Mayor's office for this recently, wasn't there?

I'm a teacher and we have laptops - mots sites are blocked but this isn't. I go on during my lunch or prep periods so I'm not breaking any online abuse laws we have.

i work for the govt - they blocked myspace for a while ( i think bc a bunch of us were on WAY too much) but now we can go on
I only go on during breaks and lunches - the only thing i can get in trouble for is sometimes extending them for an extra 5 minutes to finish a post or something. . . but otherwise if I sign out at the end of the day I can actually stay online for hours as long as its not on company time! (i am not THAT big of a loser I have only done this while waiting for a ride lol)
