Are you suppose to get your bridal gown before you get your bridesmaid dresses?
Also, how did you select your bridesmaid dresses? Did you just bring your MOH or did you bring the entire bridal party?

I got my dress first and then picked out a MOH and BM dress with my sisters....I then brought my bridesmaids to see the dress (to make sure they liked it!) before they ordered it.

it doesn't matter if you buy your gown before or after the BM dresses ...
i took my MOH only to the dress-choosing only because the BMs are all OOT ... if they were local, i'd definitely bring them along too though ... what looks good on one person might be awful on another.

I don't think it matters unless you want the cut of your bridal gown to match the BM dresses. I did not plan on anything matching but it wound up working bc both my dress and the BM had a sweetheart type neck. I took my BMs on 2 separate days to look for dresses and they made the decision together with my help of course! It really was an easy process for me b/c I only had 4 girls who are VERy flexible and layed back!
PS I chose my gown first but not for any reason, it just worked out that way.

I picked out my gown and then the next week went back to the salon because they offered 15% off bridesmaids dresses since I paid for the dress in full...I brought my 2 maids of honor (sisters) and one of my best friends. They tried on a bunch of dresses and we found one that looked great on all 3 of them and will look great on the rest of the girls as well! good luck..i have to say I am a little sad that this part of the process is over!

I got my gown first - which is usually how it's done only because it takes longer to get your gown than it does for the BM dresses to come in. When I looked at BM dresses I only took my MOH and one other BM - once we narrowed it down I showed pictures of the options to the rest of the BMs.

My plan is to have my dress ordered first because a) it will take longer and b) I want their dresses to be completely different from mine and I don't know for sure what I'm getting yet.
I will probably take MOH and maybe 2 of my BM's... not all 6 of them because that just sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.

i got my gown first and i also recommend doing this... it just gives you a sense of how formal/informal you wanna go with your bm dresses and what kinda style etc.....
i brought all my bm's.. it was really important to me that everyone at least felt comfortable in the dress i dont want anyone to feel ugly that day

I got my dress first! I made a date for the girls to look at dresses, and whoever could make it came. It all worked out great!

I would say to get your dress first. I thought I was going to get a very 'crisp' and modern-looking dress, and I was going to have the bridesmaids in a 'crisp' yellow dress. It turns out that I ended up with a very soft, romantic ivory lace dress (totally not what I thought!!!), and the yellow dresses I was first eyeing go horrendously with them, so I had to go back to the drawing board with the bm dresses.

Get your dress first. It takes a lot longer to order yours then it does to order the BM's.
As for choosing BM dresses. I have each girl in a different dress. My moh and my sister went once to try on the styles that I liked based on the internet. Then I had 5/6 girls try on dresses and give me their preferences. Finally I had 3/6 girls come. I then gave them a choice of 10 dresses (same designer same fabric) and told them to choose one and let me know. A few of them tried the choices on on their own and some didn't.

I got my gown first. I chose the bm dresses while with one of the bm's ...I didn't want too many opinions!

Unless you want your BM dresses to sort of match yours (like neckline, material, etc) then I don't think it matters which you buy first.
I am personally going to be purchasing my gown before we go shopping for BM dresses.

I got my dress after them but I dont really think it matters. I went to poick out a few BM dresses with my mom and then I went back with the girls and let them each pick what they liked from the choices. Seemed to work out real well.
