One of my BM is in Boston - so it is difficult because she hasn't come down to LI since July - so whenever I am considering a BM dress, I email her a picture.
The first picture I emailed her - her response was 'it looks kind of stiff - won't we all look like robots? Why do we all have to wear matching BM dresses?'
Second dress her response - nothing. About two weeks later she emails me 'Why haven't you written - I figured you would have a new dress u like since you keep changing your mind'
Final dress - almost definitely 'the one' (MOH tried it on and we both loved it) - 'It is really blue - are you sure we aren't going to blind people'
Is it so freakin hard to just say something nice?

Sorry you have to deal with this. Before I even got engaged I used to tell people that I knew I would ask to be in the wedding that I will be choosing the dress and if they don't like it too bad. OK so I said it nicer than that and I am definitely not a bridezilla but honestly they only have to wear it one day and when it's their turn I would have the courtesy not to say I didn't like it. As long as it is resonably priced I have no problem with it!

Here's my opinion b/c I am dealing with the same thing - she is envious that you are getting married and she isn't. Sometimes people can't just be happy for you - they have to bring you down with them. Make your biggest decisions with the people that are truly involved and care (it sounds like your MOH) otherwise you'll go crazy! Good luck!

she won't be a pain about anything else because I am limiting her involvement in all other aspects of the wedding! I don't need a Debbie Downer making me feel badly about making the decisions I make
I think I find it so upsetting because I would never THINK of complaining about or dissing a BM dress one of my friend's picked out for me to wear at their wedding. UGH - rude!

Thanks! I think you are right - it just makes me so sad cause she has been one of my best friends for years and years, and now I don't even want to talk to her on the phone cause she is pissing me off with her negativity
