getting in shape:UPDATE

UPDATE: I am officially the lowest weight I have been in 8 years! yay!!!

lots of exercise & a healthy diet. a great tip is this: do not eat ANYTHING after 7pm. Not one thing..not even 1 single grape. nothinggggg!! it really helps!!! ;)

Re: getting in shape

I joined WW and started exercising daily. I feel great and it's something I wanted to do to get healthier, not just look good in my dress...although that is a good side effect!!

I try to go to the gym 3-4 times a week. I alternate between cardio and strength training. I also try to watch what I eat.

I go to the gym about 3 to 4 times a week and watch what I eat. I didn't cut anything out, but have moderated what I eat--portion control is the key.

working out and eating less
I'm one of those girls that has to significantly cut back on food to lose weight - it stinks but I was able to do it for a few weeks. Also, the week before the wedding, my DH and I had two appointments every single day with various vendors - that alone left us no time for food and I was able to lose another 2lbs (probably just water weight) that week

I am very conscious of my eating - lots of salads, veggies, and fruits.

Also - I've been running in the mornings and am going to start adding in some gym time after work, about an hour of cardio at the gym about 3 days a week. And possibly, if I have the time, a pilates/strength training class on the weekend.

Re: getting in shape

I got the 'wedding ready' program thru NYSC for twelve weeks and just eating right - under 1400 calories, lots of vitamins (you wouldn't think vitamins, but they give me the energy to get my butt up to go to the gym)

I try to eat more green things and make sure I run a few mile 2-3x a week. It seems to be working.

Re: getting in shape

you dont have to eat less... just eat better things.
MAKE SURE YOU EAT though... starving yourself will make it even worse.

I go to the gym 5-6 times a week for an hour.
1/2 Cardio 1/2 weights.

CARDIO IS WONDERFUL... so try to start running a little each day...

Re: getting in shape

for me adding some light weight training and eating low-fat helped (this was in addition to my regular taekwondo classes i take about 3x's a week)

I go to the gym 5 days a week and try to bike the other 2. Lots of weight training and watch those portion sizes..also try to limit the liquor (like I should talk!) but it does help!

Re: getting in shape

I think the key is finding excercises that you enjoy..riding a bike, running, hiking..etc.. The gym can get boring..I think if you are getting 1/2 hour to 40 min of cardio 3-4 x a week and adding some weight training you will see a difference. It is important to eat healthy(not starve yourself)..your body needs the nutrients to build the muscle that you are working your a** off to get. Enjoy it, don't just do it..It is very important to find the right things that work for YOU so it becomes a part of your life and not just something you dread to do every day..Variety is key too..never get bored!
