Getting Married at RH

Getting Married at RH

I am getting married at the RH. My photographer requested that FH, BP and myself get our pictures taken at a different location prior to the wedding. I am not sure what to do in this case...
I want to enjoy my reception (photographer said we would miss a large part of the reception because of the picture taking), but at the same time, I am trying to keep with traditions by not seeing FH before I walk down the aisle. I do not know what do to?

Please help!!!

this is one of those decisions that you and FH really need to make together. we got married at 11:15 am at the hall...and for us we just knew that it would be better for us to see each other before the ceremony and do pictures. but everyone is different. you need to be comfortable with whatever your choice is. your photographer will always want you to do pics beforehand, cause that's the easiest thing for them.

if you are marrying later in the daytime or early evening, i would consider going someplace like old westbury gardens to do pics.

doing pics before the ceremony at our hall, was the best decision that we could have made. it calmed our nerves and i loved the factr that the moment that we saw each other was private and intimate!

We are taking pictures before our ceremony with our BP at a different location. It just makes things easier and im not really big on keeping the tradition where i dont see FH before the ceremony. Im jewish so im going to see him before the ceremony either way when we sign the ketubah. Seems alot more convenient to take pics before as well i think.

We went through the same thing since we're also getting married at our rh it was a tough decision. In the end we decided to see each other before our 12:30 ceremony. We're taking all of our pics before the ceremony so we don't have to be pulled away from anything. FH was very clear about not wanting to miss the CH, his favorite part of any wedding
In the end as long as you both agree and make a decision together it'll all work out.

FH & I really thought about it and decided to take pictures before our ceremony since we are getting married at our RH. That is one of the traditions we both felt that it didn't make a difference if we followed or not. We want our bridal party to be able to enjoy our cocktail hour. We will take a couple of pictures together during the cocktail hour and then join our guests.

I def. think it is worth it to see each other before the wedding, unless you are choosing not to for religious reasons- I know a lot of people, for religious reasons will not live which each other, sleep with each other, and will not see each other before the wedding- i perfectly respect people's decisions to do that. However, if not for religious purposes, in my opinion, it makes a lot of sense to see each other before the wedding- you will still have that moment where you see each other and get excited- that moment will still be captured on film. The way I look at it, in the grand scheme of my wedding, the cocktail hour alone is costing a few thousand dollars- I am going to be there for it!!

We did all our pictures before the wedding ceremony, it was great because we enjoyed our cocktail hour and reception! All the work was done with! The videographer and photographer got pictures and videos of him seeing me for the first time!

I dont want to see my future husband before either, but hey, we are paying for and planning our entire wedding by ourself, with no help from anyone and we have down every thing we can to make it so special and us and to have the things and food we always wanted so HECK NO, WE ARE NOT MISSING ANY OF IT, WE ARE STARTING OUR PHOTOS AT 1:00 PM AT THE RECEPTION PLACE, THEN AT 3:00 PM WE ARE MEETING THE BRIDAL PARTY AT OLD WESTBURY GARDENS FOR OUTDOOR PORTRAITS THEN WE ARE OFF TO GET MARRIED AT MUST BE AT THE CHURCH AT 5:00 AND THE COCKTAIL IS AT 7:00 SO WE ARE GOING TO OUR COCKTAIL HOUR MINUS ABOUT 15 MINUTES WHERE WE ARE GOING TO HAVE OUR TOASTS IN THE BRIDAL SUITE....I DONT WANT TO MISS A THING.....BUT THATS US, SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO DO CERTAIN THINGS SO YOU DONT MISS OTHER THINGS, BUT SOME GIRLS WANT TO BE VERY TRADITIONAL, ITS UP TO YOU AND YOU ONLY, DONT STRESS WITH IT, JUST MAKE A CHOICE AND GO WITH IT....AND ENJOY IT.........AND DONT LOOK BACK.....

Take a lot of the pics with your BP at this seperate location, then take pics with you and FH during the cocktail hour.

You can speak to the photographer and suggest that you and BP take pics at the location, then FH and BP take pics.. without seeing each other. Then take pics w/ FH together at RH..But then that defeats the purpose of both of you having beautiful pics together at a lovely location. Fh and I had a similar problem...we decided we would change our ceremony location and wed at a museum 2 hrs b4 the cocktail hr, take pics there, be at the RH b4 cocktail hour, take pics there also. That way we would have some time during cocktail hr. and be available for all our reception.
