Getting married at the hall?

Getting married at the hall?

For all those getting married at your hall, how long is your ceremony going to be? I feel kinda clueless and don't know what the structure should be (or could be)
Is it approximately a 20 minute ceremony? Is anyone doing a unity candle? When would you incorporate that into the whole thing? Are you having readings done? Anyone with ideas?
Just want some feedback from other brides, thanks

We had a very simple ceremony - it was about 10 minutes - and that included a reading for my son, to present him with a medallion.

we were married at the hall and it was a 1/2 hr ceremony. The maitre'd gave us the rundown of what was going on and it went VERY smoothly

ETA: we did a unity candle and readings in which the pastor said a bit about hte candle and what it meant and then introduced our readers, one right after the other, and then we did our vows.

I'm not getting married at the hall, but I had a friend that did. The ceremony lasted about 20-25mins, and didn't include readings. She did have the unity candle, and that came after the vows (if I remember correctly). However, I just went to another wedding recently, where they did the unity candle AFTER the 'I do's', so I guess it's up how you want to do it...

As for me, we're not having special readings (other than of the priest) at the ceremony. Also, we're nixing the unity candle thing, and doing what Trista & Ryan did... two different colored sands (pink & blue) in jars, and then combine them into a 3rd jar, to make the color purple (unified!)... lol.

Our ceremony was at the hall - it probably took approx 20 minutes.

We had two readings/readers - one before and one after we exchanged vows & rings. We had the unity candle after the 2nd reading (I think ).

Our ceremony is taking place at the Hall. It will take about 20 to 25 minutes. We are going over the details with our officiant this weekend.

Mine was at the hall, we had a unity candle and 2 readings. One reading was at the end, I think it was the belssing, and the other one was right beofre the unity candle. THe whole ceremony tooka bout 20 minutes, and we had a bunch of different parts. I also did the Rose Ceremony. I would talk to your officiant.

I still have my ceremony on the computer if you want I'll e-mail it to you. We didn't do the unity candle, we did the rose ceremony instead.

We're probably going to use a judge who works with FH sister so we need to talk and see how personal he'd make the ceremony. I don't think he' d have a ton of ideas, but I could be wrong.
20 minutes sounds like a great amount of time. We're doing it outside and think that a microphone wil be available too for readings if we choose.

Re: Getting married at the hall?

we are getting married at the hall and will have reading from our friends and family (poetry, noting too religious)

one of our friends is at Juliard and is going to sing for us during the ceremony

No unity candle, no sand ceremony, probably no rose ceremony since my FI parents will be boycotting the wedding because I am not Korean

I am figuring it will take 30-40 minutes

we are going to be about 30-40 minutes with two readings, at the hall. They said that we could take as long as we want, but it would cut into our cocktail hour - they usually budget a half hour. We are extending it a bit because the ceremony is the most important part of the day to me - it IS the part where we get married, after all!
