Getting married early for Health Insurance

I know that there was someone on here that got married before their actual wedding in order for you and FH to share Health Insurance.

Could you please let me know where you went to get married and What did you have to do other then get a marriage license?

That wasnt me but isnt it as easy as getting a marriage license and going to town hall?

I know pastor april will do it per her website..

I hope everything is ok.. FH doesnt have health insurance right now and this worries me. Hopefully he will be ok for the next 5 months.

Thanks. Everything is OK. My FH is starting his own business so he has no insurance and we don't want him to be like that for 3 1/2 months.

My friend did that about two months again. I was one of her witness. YOu have to go down to town hall and get your marriage license and when you get your license you can make an appointment to have the justice marry you. There's a waiting period ( I thinks its 24 hours) Between getting the license and getting married. Also you need two witnesses and they must bring photo ID. There is a fee in addition to the $40 marriage license. If you have anymore questions feel free to FM me.

post on the 07 board - there was a girl there (caroline) who did that, she was originally an 08 bride. i don't know what her new screen name is.

If you and FH live together check with your company if you can do a domestic partner health insurance. We do that and it works just as if you are married and that way you don't have to rush.

We just did it on May 12th. I had health insurance through my company, but I need to have some tests done and my insurance wouldn't cover it. My DH (love saying that) works for NYC, so he's got excellent insurance. We went down to Town Hall, got a marriage license, and then 24 hours later we were able to get married. We called the Justice of the Peace (Town Hall has the number) and they set up the appointment. We got married at Town Hall in the judge's chambers.
