Getting married in October. When do I book HM & register?
We're going to Sandals Jamaica. Any ideas of how soon I should book the HM? Also, I wanted to register for gifts the day after we got engaged ( a year ago!!!) but I knew there would be so many discontinued things if I did. I was thinking at the end of this month? Is that too soon? I'm not going to register for any seasonal things as I expect they'd be discontinued by the time my shower rolls around.

FH and I have been meaning to register for weeks now. Just haven't found the time. I know a lot of the October girls have already registered. The end of this month is not too soon.
As soon as FH and I decided on where we are going for the HM we are going to book it. I thought we had it decided but now he isn't sure. I think you should book it anytime you are ready. Sandals always has big sales (50% off and stuff) so we are going to try to book when they are having a sale.

i'm gettting married in November and registered recently...i wanted to give my close family time to scope out sales on items on my registry. And if anythign is discountinued, i'll change it as it happens.

We registered over a year before the wedding so it's never too soon! People got us gifts off our registry as engagement gifts and I already saw some knocked off for shower gifts..... Believe me, when it comes closer to the wedding you will be so busy, you won't have the time or patience to start adding things to a registry. I know it doesn't seem like it now since it seems like you have a lot of time, but things will accumulate! Anything you can get done now, you may as well do it.. .

Thanks guys. I will register at the end of this month (when I go on vacation from work) and will book the HM as soon as we get our passports in the mail.

i registered last year...i just keep updating my registry, actually im still in the process of taking all of my stuff off of fortunof and just keep the china up therre becuase i cant take them anymore lol

We registered already. Once we move into our new home, we'll add more stuff. Hopefully we're booking our HM today!

I booked my honeymoon in February, and I plan on registering in April. I feel like time is getting away from me so quickly!

I would probably do it soon. I registered back in September/October and we booked our HM last month. If you are having a shower, that will probably happen in 2-3 months, so you should register soon. And if Sandals is having sales, take advantage of that too!!

we booked our honeymoon in november and we just registered yesterday so no i dont think its too soon. Besides it takes so long to go through the stores and we found it very overwhelming so we did it a little at a time. We probably went about three times and finally finished yesterday. HTH

We just booked our HM a couple of days ago. FH doesnt want to register yet so I will probably do it in May

I would book the HM soon. You might want to register in the next month or so. You shower's probably being planned soon, and people are going to want to know what to get you!

I agree it is never too soon. We got engaged in Sept and registered like 2 weeks later! My FMIL kept asking saying that all her friends wanted to know where we registered. We also booked our HM already since we wanted to try to get the best airfare possible since we are flying direct to Hawaii

We registered 8 months ahead of time, which has been plenty of time to update my registries.
We called to book our HM 11 months in advance and learned that all the rooms we wanted were booked already : ( I'd book the HM first, then worry about registering. Registring takes some time though....don't attempt it all at once LOL

I registered already but did not plan my honeymoon yet! I want to go to St. Lucia I think but I'm worried because it is during hurricane season!
