Getting Mom's in Action

Getting Mom's in Action

So last night as I was updating our budget spreadsheet and laying out all of our to-dos in my new 2006 calendar, my Mom comes in and asks 'When are we going to do the pew wreaths? Anytime you're ready honey.'

I completely snapped at her...I said 'You know Mom, YOU can start them by YOURSELF. I have PLENTY to keep me occupied right now.'

It must have worked..because today she is home and starting them as well as coordinating our rehearsal and dinner with MIL.

I feel bad I got so worked up, but I've been doing mostly everything for the wedding. While my parents have been there for moral support this past year, I'm glad they're pitching in, I need them!

oh, man...I completely understand what you are going through. I have done everything for this wedding and my Mom has really done nothing. My Mom is GREAT at offering her opinions (your wine glasses on your registry are so 'plain'), but everytime I ask her to do something to help it becomes the BIGGEST deal, so I have decided that I'm just going to handle everything myself.

It would help if she could turn on a computer, but she can't.

Oh, well - since I've begun planning this wedding the biggest lesson that I''ve learned is if I want something done, I have to do it.

Don't get me wrong, my Mom is SOOOO excited about the wedding, and LOVES talking about EVERY ASPECT of it over and over again....BUT, she has to plan when we are doing things for it...I gave her complete freedom to start the DIY projects we have already discussed..WHENEVER SHE WANTS.

I think she's worried about being overbearing MOMzilla.
