and I'm sad about losing my last name :( Luckily my brother is a DeQuatro, so the name will stay in the family, but there's not many of us left and I always loved my last name. My new name will be much easier to spell with only 4 letters, but is anyone else sad about losing their last name??!

2015 crashing! I am! My new last name will also be so much simpler to say and spell, but in going to miss my last name! I also have a brother that will hopefully carry it on, but it's going to be weird having the same name as my FMIL!

I'm devastated! Everyone calls me by my last name since I was in high school and I'm a teacher so it makes up a giant part of my identity. I have two months to go until I'm a completely different person and I'm so sad about it. :(

I don't have a great last name, and I was having major issues with the thought of changing it. I've gone through waves. At one point I was crying over it.It took me awhile to finally accept changing my name, because although I feel like it changes my identity...it really doesn't. I will always be me. I want the same last name as my children, and it's important to FH. I think it'll be okay. I'm looking at it as an upgrade since I will no longer be at the end of the alphabet, haha.

I'm very sad about giving up my last name. My older bro had two daughters, and my two little bros aren't likely to get married/have children, so... That's it. No more Millers. I'm very sad about it. I also don't love my new last name. It's important to FH and I'm a little excited to finally have the same last name as my daughter. It'll save the poor school nurse every time she calls me 'Can I speak with Mrs. U... Oh, I mean...' And I always have to say, it's fine, lol. But when I call the pediatrician or anything and they say, what's the last name? I have to say, I'll spell it... Lol. I've seen it written out 'Mrs...' on things I got at my shower and such, and I don't hate it.

It really hit me when I got the marriage license since it asks for your new name. It's a really weird feeling knowing that my name will change and I'm still not sure if I like the way it sounds. Since I have a double first name not many sound right with it.

I am sad. It was important to FH I take his last name. I love my last name and unfortunately my dad and my uncle had all girls so the last name ended with me. So I am really sad to have our name end and not be able to be carried on. I have a tattoo drawn up that I plan on getting on the top of my back over behind my heart of my last name so that it will always be with me.

His ex-wife still kept her last name... Ughhhh no desire to share anything with her

Me too! I'm excited for this. The only thing is that I want to keep my maiden name as my middle name (an option for those of you who want to keep your maiden name around). Most people call me by my full name anyway now (my maiden name is very short/one syllable). The only problem is that I hear that NY makes this difficult. I'll deal with this later!

I'm very sad about changing I still have until May 2016 with my current name, but I feel like my new name just doesn't flow as well! Although it will be easier for people to say and spell because my last name now always gets butchered!

Ditto.......at work my name will remain the same but on paper it will ALL BE HIS!
